The Blue Lagoon Villa has a wonderful view of the lagoon and we found it to be an exceptional value. We looked at several nice properties during our visit and we felt the Blue Lagoon Villa was one of the best values on the Island.  It is very spacious and has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.  The house is faced on two sides with a roomy veranda that has two full dining tables and a gas barbeque. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for self catering (even a microwave). We were amazed at how efficient the solar water heater was (never ran out of hot water) and the downstairs laundry facility was a godsend. There is even a shower outside at one corner of the house for rinsing off after  swims in the lagoon. We heard that the water in the lagoon was very shallow at this location, but we found it to be a better place to swim than Muri Beach. There weren't quite as many fish as there were at Fruits of Rarotonga (a favorite snorkeling spot), but the water was much clearer.  Black Rock is just a short walk up the beach from the villa and has a rather nice swimming hole. The sunsets viewed from the deluxe private beach hut (exclusively for house guests) are spectacular. The beach hut is large enough for four chairs and a small table and there are two padded wooden loungers on the beach in front of the beach hut.  The Villa had a very pleasant surprise for us in the master bedroom.  It has a queen sized bed with the most comfortable mattress (pillow top) we've ever slept on.  There is a stereo and a nice TV with both DVD and VCR in the living room. We were prepared to pay the small extra fee for the air conditioner in the master bedroom, but it was very comfortable in the evenings with just the ceiling fan in the living room and a small area fan in the bedroom. The villa is very modern and is decorated nicely with comfortable furniture and local original art. There is a very nice formal dining area with a glass topped dining table plus a kitchen bar with bar stools. The house made us feel very secure as it can only be accessed from one entry downstairs. There is a large carport under the house opposite a huge, well manicured yard. The short walk down to the beach is lined with tropical flowers and... I've got to stop. I'm getting depressed.
